Just found this site and am looking forward to local area discussions. Started my first SW tank with the BioCube 29 and it's been up and running for a month. Started w/30 lbs of LR and 30 lbs of LS. Took about 2 wks to completely cycle the tank, which I felt very lucky about. Got a lot of cool hitchhikers on the LR, some of which are still just now showing themselves. Here are my main tank inhabitants:
1. CUC consisting of 6 hermits, 6 astraea snails, 6 black ceriths, 2 margarita snail, 3 nessarius snails, 6 grass shrimp from Galveston Bay
2. Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
3. Blue/Green Reef Chromis
4. Pajama Cardinalfish
5. Maroon Clownfish
6. Green Bubble Tip Anemone
7. Naked Goby (caught in our backyard in G-town)
Hitchhikers that I've ID'ed:
1. turkey wing clam
2. 2 open brain coral
3. several Lesser Star Coral
4. feather duster
5. some kind of snail, possibly a type of whelk
6. limpet
7. several small anemones (no, they aren't aiptasia)
8. lots of encrusted sponges in various colors
9. caulerpa
10. halimeda
I'll post some pics when I figure out how on here! My LFS is Rainforest Pets in League City.
