Just thought I would share.

The pumps for my tank have always been a little undersized and struggled to feed the return, reactors, and fuge. I finally got around to upgrading.

I wanted something very quiet, energy efficient, and powerful for < $300. I started looking around and had pretty much settled on a laguna pond pump since they get great reviews and appear to be the heart of the much more expensive red dragon pumps everyone loves.

Well, right before I ordered, I discovered that the company that owns Laguna (Hagen) also owns Fluval. Come to find out Fluval is starting in saltwater, and they have a new line of pumps. So I picked up a Hagen Fluval Sea SP6 which I'm sure shares internal components with the rock solid laguna line of pumps.

This pump is very very quiet, and is a moves an incredible amount of water. I don't have a kill a watt, so I'm not sure if it actually meets the manufacturers power rating, but I have no reason to to doubt it. 3 year warranty, and laguna pumps are known for being stout. If this pump proves to have longevity, I bet it will become very very popular.
