I was driving down 2920 the other day and saw a new fish store. I was back up that way today and decided I would stop in. The place is called Ultimate Fish and is located on 2920 about a mile east of Kuykendahl. They have a large section of freshwater fish and probably about 10% of the store dedicated to SW. I am however dissapointed in what I saw. There were cloudy tanks, sluggish fish and generally an unappealing look to most of their SW stuff. There was also no coral that I could find. However with this being a brand new place, you may be able to chalk it up to new store troubles. I think it may turn out to be a decent place to shop for those woodlands people, so keep an eye out, or just drop in and check it out yourself.

Ive been stopping in there from time to time as it is right around the corner from me. Alex is the owner. I am not getting the impression that he is doing any more than what he already has. Does not keep really anything SW in stock as far as dry goods either. I believe the name is Ultimate Fish.

will post updates if I learn anything new.

<nod> they seem to be primarily FW/Cichlid (sp?) I think...

I did/do like their selection of Tc Holey rock... some nice large pieces. I think a good 40lbs or so found it's way into my tank as base rock...and has colored/corralined up nicely in comparison the my life rock.

very extensive cichlid collection, but rather pricey. will order anything for you but once again, prices are not that great. saltwater section is new, but anything but appealing. Had a dead trigger in one tank, who knows how long it was in there.

Pricey becuz you're paying for quality.

NO where else will you find high end tanganyikan and malawi cichs without suffering a plummet in quality. Prices are what they are b/c most are imported, not your dingy low quality crap from Indonesia.

For you price queens, go check out VTF's prices on Malawi cichs. $70 a pr for lemon jakes of md size (3.5"-4") and at Ultimate $55 for the same fish but larger (depending on sp. up to 4.5"-5.0").
