Well this is long overdue but I finally in the process of a new tank build. Just having a tiny bit of trouble with the drain durso pipes they keep coming out of the bulkhead when any major water moving around like when I try to just clean the glass. Don't know what to do to keep it from popping out when I put the wavemaker in there. A 180 gallon tank with a 75 gallon Sump/refug. It will be a mixed reef...

Equipment so far:
Ice Cap K2 200 Skimmer dead silent.
GHL 2.1 Doser
Ecotech M1 return pump
Reef Keeper controller from previous setup. Still thinking about the new Apex have not made up my mind yet...
Lights will be AI Hydra HD 26 or 52 will be getting them next week.
ATO will be either IceCap ATO or Tunze 3155.
Eheim Jager Heater 300w
Testing kit for the cycle process is Red Sea Marine Care test kit. Red Sea Cal, Alk & Mag after cycling is completed.
Ice Cap Gyro 3k and other powerheads/wavemakers-small to go on back glass.
BRS Duel Media reactor.
MARS Hydro light fixture for the refug.

I think that is it for the equipment for now. Not really sure what else is needed as far as the equipment goes. If I missed anything i am open to suggestions...
Don't think I will be doing calcium reactor but have not ruled it out just yet.

Well photos will have to wait photobucket is acting up right now. They now have so many ads it is unreal. They use to not have that many ads.
I am just not feeling my aquascape after getting it in the tank. Have not completed the right side yet just put the rocks in a pile to get them off the table will be redoing that side this weekend.

If anyone knows another website for storing and posting pictures please let me know.

180's are such a great size!

Sounds like you're off to a great start. Regarding the standpipes...I'm a little fuzzy as to what you mean. If you aren't gonna glue them, wrap them with Teflon tape for a snug fit.

Where'd you find your 180. That is the perfect size tank on the bigger end without getting monster sized. They seem so difficult to come by lately. Used to see them for sale all the time

The Durso Pipes are the ones that are inside the overflow box that go inside the top of the bulkheads.. I have put the teflon tape on one of them but I have not checked it out to see if it comes out when the water has major movement in it.

I bought it from one of the LFS that I go to. It just happened to be on sale when I got it and when it came in they delivered to me.

No updates yet. Just been letting it do its thing and so for the Ammonia, Ni, Na all have been 0 since June 17th. Alk has been at 160 to 180 ppm. Now if only I could win a small lottery to get my lights with would be great. That is all that is holding me up is getting my lights. To bad there isn't a secret Santa out there to get the lights for an early Christmas present would be great.

Well I just looked and saw my pictures are no longer viewable and now photobucket wants you to pay. That stinks. What other sites if any can you download your pictures to post to the forum's without having to pay for fees?????

I use SmugMug for $5 per year I believe.
Unlimited storage as I have a few thousand in data base with them.
