After a disastrous first water test back in October, I totally redid the tank. It took a month or more to think about this and decide how I was going to fix it. After much thought and a lot of valuable from my 16 yo son, I cut every seam apart, re-cut and re-machined every edge and re assembled the whole tank. I put a little bit of additional support in it that reassures me that this project will never come apart on its own and will not leak. I did a water test this weekend and everything is good. I am much happier with it now than I was before.

I still have the sump to finish, then I will start plumbing the 2-4 ways with the 2 Darts and hopefully come up with a plan to move my rock and livestock from my 210 over to the new tank. I am just not sure how I am going to do the total switch from old to new??

Care to share the "disaster" story? Just want to know if I can learn from it but if it is to tuff to write about that is okay. I would understand.

Well, in short, there was one bad seam and I pretty much knew it. As most of you know, when working with acrylic, if it is machined correctly and glued correctly, it will break before coming apart. With having that one bad seam, basically it was 3/4 full of water and that seam came apart causing the other two seams on that side to break. In a situation like this, I dont think there was any other choice but to re-cut everything and make sure everything was perfect. During this catastrophe, I appreciated the calls from Marsh friends that encouraged me not to stop but to keep moving forward...

Oh well, I wanted to add some more pics but my Upload Quota has been reached.

Through all the trial and tribulations, I am very happy so far with how things have turned out.

I still need to complete the cabinet work, get a hanger for the light and decide if I am going to keep 1 or 2 Darts/OM. I am considering taking one of the pumps out just to decrease the flow a little. I think that OceansMotions kind of over designed the flow???
