I am not new to reefing and saltwater tanks. That being said I haven't experienced anything like this before. I put together a small 30g nano tank about three months ago. I purchased a good amount of marine pure that was well cycled from the fish gallery, which resulted in a very fast cycle. After about the first month the tank was cycled and water quality was amazing. About a month later I got a dark green algae bloom almost over night. I did daily 5g water changes and turned down the lights. Now it's just very cloudy and it has been this way for about 3 weeks now. Nitrates, ammonia and phosphates are almost all non existent. 20210217_134401.jpg

And just to add too it. During this winter storm I lost my eater and the tank got down to 55 degrees over night. I lost some live stock and it's a wait and see on my corals at this point but this has been going on prior to the weather.

My frag tank was having a cloudiness issue recently and I think most likely due to bacterial bloom. I tried mechanical filtration, I tried water changes, no luck. I got one of these(check the amazon warehouse ones, $50) and ran it for 2 days and it cleared right up. I've since pulled it from the tank and all is fine so far.

I have been thinking about trying a UV filter. It's a small enough tank that it may work
