Hi there,

I have a 90 gallon reef tank and I'm tired of looking at all the equipment. I have a spare 10 gallon and a 55 gallon tank that I thought I might be able to convert to a refugium. I've done some researching on the internet on DIY refugiums, but I haven't had to confidence to do it yet. Anyone have any ideas or or tips? I also have a few extra parts from when I had my 55 gallon set up, like the biofilter, an extra heater, and the small pump that was for the 10 gallon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Would be easy to convert the 55 into a refugium. Are you looking to make a refugium + sump to house equipment?

All you need to do is have some acrylic or glass baffles cut for you and you can silicone them in.

ok, I have all my supplies. Now I need to figure out the dimensions for my baffels.

I have my pump, overflow box, 20 gallon long aquarium, and a sheet of 1/4" acrylic for my baffels.

Any Advise?

I just scored it with a blade and it made a clean break. I actually just got done. I'm waiting for the acrylic to cure so I can see if I have any leaks.
