Who’s going to the aquatic show at nrg next weekend? Never been to anything like this so not sure what to expect. Is it worth a 2 day pass?

I am going on Saturday. I have not been to this show before, so no idea if there is 2 days' worth of stuff to see. I'm excited that it's both fresh and saltwater - I've never been to a freshwater show before.

I'm debating whether I want to get the reptile pass as well or just the aquatic one. Not that I need or want a reptile, but some of them are pretty cool to see.

me and my wife said the same thing. We don’t keep any reptiles but would like to just go see all the different booths. They are definitely double dipping charging for parking plus an additional for both aquatic and reptile. But hoping it’s worth the money. Seems to be a fair amount of vendors on the aquatic side.

has anyone been yet? Is it worth the price of admission if I’m only interested in saltwater fish/coral? How are prices compared to LFS and are there a lot of vendors?

just got back from show. As far as prices no I didn’t see any deals you couldn’t get at a lfs. But overall it was really cool vibe. Not much saltwater fish. About roughly dozen coral vendors. Several local vendors out there so what they had in store is what they brought.

I agree there wasn't much in the way of bargains. I inquired about a really cool mushroom, but when they said $600, I decided it could stay there.

It was interesting to see the different levels of preparation by various vendors. All the way from some who never unpacked the poor fish from their bags, to the Fish Gallery that set up a beautiful 600-gallon tank - that looked like a lot of work for 2 days.

There were a couple really pretty chameleons that were tempting, but decided fish and dogs are about all I can handle.
