What is your views on Odyssea 20B tanks and heard of any lighting DIY or upgrades?
Would like to keep softes, mushrooms, few fish nothing with MH requirements, but would like to keep hood and not have it open to the air.
Yep, I did set one up monday in the office. Added 20lb LR, 20lb LS from existing tank, and water from existing tank. Ammonia has dropped, and Nitrates have jumped up to 20ppm. Plan on water change this evening and see how things look monday.
I am not happy with the single 50/50 24w cp light (24w in 20gallons - not good!) and wanted to know if anyone has heard of upgrades. Yes, I did remove the cheap blue pad and replaced it with 10 oz Chemi-pure and 2.1 oz Purigen. And added 1200 power head until I can find my 900 maxijet, no low flow spots now!

Temp 80
SG 34
Ph 8.2
Alk 3.5
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 20 ppm
Ca 420

thanks for your views good/ bad and any info/help with lighting changes.

Tank is half circle and space for lamp is 15 1/2" long x 4" wide "enclosed box" in the hood. looks like i could cut out the sides and ends and fit 18" of lamp in there and put in a new lamp cover "splash guard". but might have to increase the ballast to drive new lamps. need to find too some sort of diy lighting kit that will work on the tank. kinda wish i would have just broken down and got the nc12 the price was right on the 20B, but hind sight is 20/20 and i can not see out my butt.
