Oceanic salt - price increase? (1 Viewer)

I stopped by Aquatic World to pick up some Oceanic salt last night. I know that Fish Land and I believe Global sell it for $40, and Aquatic World used to sell it for $45, so it was worth the $5 not to have to drive across town (and pay $5 in tolls).

Anyway, I go to check out, and the price had gone up to $55. He said that Oceanic had a price increase.

Has anyone else noticed this? Can I still get it for $40 at other stores, or did their prices go up as well?

For what size container??? When I get it at VT for the 50 gallon container, it has been $16.99

If you do not feel like driving across town and if they have a bucket on the shelf petsmart will price match their web site for $39.99 I have see it on the shelf at the one near us 249@1960 and I have had them price match their web site before. Just print out this page and take it with you

I know alot of people do not like petsmart but if you can get a good deal why not take advantage of it?????

what a smart move. jeez. this was probably not a good time for them to increase the price as people have been having alage problems with it. I wonder how much it will affect their sales now.

how many gallons come in the bucket?

The bucket looks like a normal 5 gallon bucket The salt should mix 200 gallons worth of saltwater...maybe more maybe less depending on what specific gravity you mix it up to.

I just called Global and John sells it for $45 now. He used to sell it for $40. He did confirm that they had a price increase at the first of the year.

Yea i think you meant 5. I buy 5 gallons of this stuff at a time from Andy at Fish Land, and i think he sells it pretty cheap.

Just called him. He has it for sale at about $45

Well, Andy used to sell it for $40 too, so it looks like everyone has gone up. Man, I knew I should have bought 4 buckets when John had it on sale a few months ago.
