How often do open brain corals split? What is the average size they do this. I recently purchased one and id say it about 4- 41/2 inches in diameter. The sides are starting to pinch together heavily and it wasnt like that before. I have also noticed slight tissue seperation along the "pinch"

Budding..which I believe is what the process is called...is quite rare for Open Brains in the home aquarium. I've never seen anyone with documentation on it.

Take some pics if possible. Id like to see it and im sure if you post in Eric B's forum on Reefcentral youll get more info.
