I see a lot of online pics of this coral with a bright green base. Anybody else around here getting the same coloration with theirs? Mine is pretty much red throughout. If you are getting some nice coloration, could you send me some pics and info on what lighting your using. Its time for new bulbs and I may be looking for a switch.

Hey Kevin, my base is green. I was told to keep it high In the tank. I have had it for a few weeks with awesome colors. I use Hamilton 250 watt 14 k. I will post pics later.

Mine is pretty green still, though a smaller frag. It's also pretty high up.

The more green you want the higher up it has to be. To keep the deep red coloring the lower it has to be. If you keep it too high it will turn more of a pinkish with lime green. I have found that most ORA acros and mili's do best around the halfway point in my tank.

I will definatly have to get some new bulbs. My tank has been performing a bit poorly recently and I'm thinking it may be because of my lighting. I tried some 14K South Pacific Sun (SPS) bulbs and dont think I like them. They are about 8 months old, but the overall appearance of my corals has been degrading for a while.

Anybody else have an opinion on these bulbs?

I may have to find me another specimen. All of these look great. While Im not sure about the performance of my lights, my frag didn't look as nice as these when I bought it.
