Peppermint shrimp invasive species? Poaching? (1 Viewer)

Someone told me that the peppermint shrimp were introduced here and not native. Is this true? And If they are an invasive species, wouldn't that mean that there are no regulations on collecting them and selling them for a profit? I'm not saying I am going to do this, I am just shrimp-curious.

No, Lysmata wurdemanni's range is all along the gulf coast.
