Just to make sure you photo geeks know, MARSH is hosting Marc Levenson this weekend to give a workshop on tank photography. See the scrolling events calendar for more info. The meeting is at my house so don't show up at ADG and expect to find anyone.

Also, please register if possible so we have a rough idea on expected attendance.

I only charge members on this site (my get back at them for charging for membership). no man. If a few people wanted to set a date to get together and learn photoshop and basic camera skills im down. Right now im in the process of moving so give me a month. but if you have any questions about cameras or photoshop just ask. I work with both on a daily basis.

Keep us posted on your availability. I have an Olympus 500 and messed around with PS a bit while I was in the NAVY. Starting to get back into it now that I have my tank running.

I was thinking of getting a DSLR. I am not pro like you so I don't want to spend a fortune. In your opinion, what would you recommend in the $500-$1000 range?

RG, for that price range you can find a good number of different models. Alot of whats in the picture quality comes in from the settings a user picks per shot and editing afterward. Granted, a high end camera might be able to take a better picture but what I guess Im getting at is that most of it relies on the person's knowledge of photography.

IMO, Good place to learn about cameras http://www.dpreview.com/

Dang, I should have posted something here - yesterday I gave an Advanced Lightroom presentation for the Houston Underwater Photo Society.

You think photography is fun - try UNDERWATER photography.
