I'm interested in growing some phytoplankton and hopefully some rotifers too. Is there anyone out there who wouldn't mind letting me take a look at their growing operations and perhaps borrow a milliliter of each? Sometimes it's better to just see something in operation than to try and glean an understanding from the internet :)

I use frozen phyto (really the easiest way to go), but have rotifer cultures going. You're welcome to come over and see my setup, really very simple. PM me and we can work something out.

I am going to set my setup back up in the near future. I also use the frozen phyto. I kinda neglected my culture when I lost my mated pair of clowns, but going to start feeding my sps tank live rotis. I really think that they benefited from the live feeding every day.

Yeah, I'm interested in feeding my SPS tank with whatever will make it thrive. I've been growing BBS for awhile now, both to feed my pipefish and whatever corals will eat 'em. Rotis are better for SPS than BBS, right? Is it generally helpful to SPS to feed phyto, or is the phyto merely to feed the rotis, which then feed the SPS? I'm also running a seahorse tank and am thinking about getting a pair of H. Reidi; I'd need rotis for their fry though and I'd like to know I can produce them before I spend a couple hundred dollars at seahorsesource.com. :)
