I had a great trip in Asia last month, would like to share some cool pics with you.
The snorkel & SCUBA diving pics are posted HERE

I had most of the sightseeing activities in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Bali (Indonesia), not much in Pattaya (Thailand) and Saigon (Vietnam) since I've been to the latter two places couple years ago.

Batu Cave, KL, Malay:: very nice cave but too much steps (272) to get to the main cave. Most people had to stop half way to catch their breath..

Genting Highlands Theme Park and Casino Resort: this resort is way up in the cloud! It's a nice escape from the heat in KL since temperature in the Highlands is only ~60F.
I like the cable ride to the highland - very steep and at some point you can't see anything due to the cloud..

Bali, Indonesia: this is a beautiful island with lots of things to do (sightseeing, beaches, scuba, snorkel, water sport, upscale resorts, etc..), The popular Kuta is packed with Australians (perhaps due to the short distance) and Europeans.

Random pics at Ramayana resort: ($75/day booked thru Expedia. I later moved to a cheaper hotel for only ~$20/day and not too bad at all)
Interesting fruits at breakfast buffeet:

After lunch we moved on to the Monkey Forest: it's really is a monkey forest since it has thousand of monkeys! We are warned to not carry any loose items (like camera, sunglasses, hat..) since these monkeys are very 'playful'... i heard a lot off screams:)

I and other visitors were taking pics of this female monkey holding her kid, suddenly this darn male monkey came from nowhere (on the tree) and jumped right on to the female and did this right in front of the stunned visitors

Bali - Indonesia (cont'd)

Night seafood restaurant on Jimbaran beach: tons of seafood restaurants with tables right on the beaches at nite - pretty romantic.

Bali Art/Culture Center: This center is large with huge architectures. I heard they started construction of this center 10 or 20 years ago but still haven't finished the original plan! The main scupture supposed to have a body of a God on top of a bird. Currently, the bird is displayed in one place and the God body in another place. I saw the hands/arms of the God are still under construction in another area. After seeing how big these parts are, I wonder if they would ever be able to put these parts together!
Here is the bird:

The unfinished section of the God's body:

And here is the model of how the final scupture should look like:
DSC09084.JPG

DSC09079.JPG

I saw the hand/arms but didn't see the bird tail which supposed to be even taller than the God body based on that model!

Nice ocean view from the top level (where the God body at)

The Uluwatu Temple in Bali: This is the perhaps the nicest of the 3 Bali temples I went to.
Visitors supposed to wear those sarongs to go inside the temple ( I got one too:)

I saw a monkey (on the wall) robbed the hat and glasses of the man in the above picture while he was taking pics of another monkey. They must be working together :D The next thing I saw even more funny: A local tour guide (at the temple) ran after the monkey and got the glasses/hat back for the visitor. While the visitor tipped the tour guide for his help, the thief monkey came back and sat on the wall right next to and in the back of that visitor watching he's paying the guide. Once the guide got the money and left, the darn monkey grasped the hat of the poor guy and ran again  I intended to alert the visitor but too late, the darn monkey was too fast! And this time, it ran all the way to the forest that the tour guide couldn't help to retrieve the hat back anymore. He later said he was lucky to still have his glasses :D

Rinca Island - Indonesia: I took a 3 day 2 nites trip from Bali to the Rinca Island and Komodo Island to see the infamous Komodo dragons and to explore the pristine reefs in these islands. First I had to catch a 1hr flight to the Flores Island, then got on a small boat to those Rinca/Komodo (~3hrs ride to each place).

These dragons are amazing to see in person; they are huge:

The Flores Island: After staying the boat to go to the Komodo/Rinca island, we went back to Flores to fly back to Bali. The Flores island is quite under developed and much more quiet and peaceful than the noisy Bali:) The island is 80% Christians while Bali is 80%+ Hindu and Lombok island (another popular dive site closeby to Bali) is mostly Muslims. The local market in Flores is quite interesting. The reef is also great here, lots of nice maxima clams!

We were a little scared when we got out of the cave and suddenly saw a bunch of kids with knifes like this. Turned out they are on their weekly duty to trim up the trees around the cave

it is just me or do most pics that you just put up do not show up?
yeah I don't undestand that either. I noticed that when I right clicked on those pics w/ an X and then select "Show Picture" then some of the pics showing up fully, some showing up in tiny sizes. After refreshing several times (after those right clicks), then all the pics appeared :?

Another way to see those red-x pics are to right click, then go to "Properties" and copy the picture link address and paste it to a new explorer window and the pic will show up just fine!

Maybe some computer geeks here can tell me what's wrong?
