Hello I am trying to adjust my skimmer to not dump to much water out into the waste collector. Can someone help me please?

If you have just started using it, there is sometimes a break-in period where it is difficult to regulate things. Just give it a couple days to settle in. If it isn't new, then you want to make sure the gate valve is opened enough to keep the water level down and you can also close off the air valve a bit to keep it from bubbling over.

make sure your gate valve is all the way open before starting to touch anything else. i'd leave it open overnight, see if it is able to skim anything, then close it little and check a several hours later.
