In the middle of my shower and the power goes out. It's now been out for about 30 minutes and Centerpoint has "no estimated time" as to when it will return. Anybody else out?

...and we're back. Wind is really bad out there though. I wouldn't be surprised if it went out again this morning.

After the Hurricane, I found out the neighbors directly across the street from me are on a totally different system than I am. They received power more than 5 days before we did.
Good thing was, all the children stayed across the street for a week!

Still have juice in The Woodlands yet. I'm leaving for my office at 249/Louetta though, hopefully we have power.

This reminds me, I should fire up my generator & test it out soon. Haven't needed it since Ike.

We are on a separate transformer from everyone else on our road. Ours is on the next road over, and every time the power would go out over there, we would be out too.

On a side note: We still have power near Jersey Village. :)

Well, we lost power again yesterday. Our house didn't have any from about 3pm until about 9pm. My tank dropped down to 72 degrees. Nothing seemed to be bothered by it though. Last week while we went out of town, my top-off didn't work right. I went basically from Thursday afternoon to Sunday afternoon w/o top-off water. Sump was almost dry. Still, no problems with any of the livestock or coral. I'm beginning to think my tank is bullet proof. 8)

Didn't lose power last week but did lose power last night due to some iced transmission line when I called Center Point.

My house temp was around 66 so not sure what the tank temp was. All the newly acquired corals are fine.

I'm sick of this, buying a generator this week. We invest so much money in fish and corals and then something like this happens and destroys everything.

I was looking at the small automatic Generac natural gas generators that run less than $2K for 8KW over 10 circuits. Not too bad of a deal if they are as good as the bigger whole house ones. I would just like to run the tank circuits, the kitchen, TV equipment and some of the house lights/fans if need be. And having it automatic would be much better for my wife, it wouldn't be something else just for the stupid fish tank! :D

Only frustrating part is when you have a 32 or 40 circuit board and you only pick 10. It makes you wonder how they wired the house when you figure out what is actually on each circuit. Spin the bottle comes to mind when I look at my wiring.
