I have installed the JEBO 48" PC lights on my tank after removing all the packing material. I just have one question. Each metal clip that holds the PC bulb in place was held together with a small plastic circle to keep the bulb inside the clip. Am I supposed to remove these? I removed them and the bulb now falls out of the clip and rests on the plastic shield, I"m assuming if they are on too long the bulb will eventually melt the shield?

Those are the bulb retaining bands. They keep the bulbs secure inside the clips. You can't removed them and expect the bulbs to stay in the clips.

Thanks :) Just wasn't sure if the bulbs would melt them too....so back they go!

coralife aqualights have these also

I've got them on my pc light also, they are available online from several vendors also. I think they're special high heat resistant silicone bands. You should leave them in place.

You have a point Markieb ;) Besides, it is only a 75, I can't have a light bulb taking up valuable real estate.

bulb rings

Yeah and they do get hot!. Just make sure they're not to tight when putting in new bulbs(stretchem a lil) or they can break the bulbs whenplacing them on(not common but worth a mention)
