So one of my RBTA's has been being a bit of a turd lately... Yesterday it shrunk up and looked all melty, but within an hour started going on the prowl, literally setting up shop almost on top of my other RBTA. It has since moved a few more inches away and is hiding under a rock now.

I'm pretty sure it's just about to split, but I don't remember it looking terrible before doing so. Last time it just got the nomadic spirit, disappeared for a few days, then showed up with a child.

Thoughts?

That's what I'm thinking since the other one looks perfect, just a little disconcerting to see one look as bad as it did. If I had gotten a picture of that you'd probably understand where my worry was coming from lol.

I had feed him in the previous 12 hrs, but I've had this guy for 3 years and never had that kind of reaction post feeding. Maybe he was constipated... Lol

No changes in flow or lighting either.

Anyways he seems to have settled down. Looking back to normal and hasn't split.

I wouldn't mind at all having a surplus of these guys though! I think your tank looks awesome like that!

Help with my rbta looking terrible. I've attempted to feed it less chunks and it just seems to release the food after about an hour.

what are your water parameters? Especially nitrates. My nems don't like high nitrates.

API shows 0 but API has always shown 0. The base is a dark brown and there are short white lines around its mouth.
