Is there anywhere local that re-seals tanks?

Does Universal? If so, do you know what it costs? I'd guess it depends on size.

Thanks

If you don't find someone to do it, I've resealed two of my tanks, and it's really not that difficult. I could give you some tips :D The hardest part is taking out the old seal and taping off for the new silicone. Mostly takes time and patience.

Hmmm, you taped your tank off for the silicone? I didn't but that's a great idea.

"We" (I say we because I watched) did not take the tank apart. Karen just cut out the old silicone with a razor and resealed our 135g. By the time she was done she got very good at it. Seems like Paul at T&T told us it would cost about $100 to have it done. As we only paid $80 for the tank to begin with we didn't want to fork out the extra to have it done.

Karen taped it because she likes things neat and she thought it made it easier.

Seems like Paul told us it was, but I can't remember. We would have resealed it regardless because the silicone was starting to pull away from the tank.

When you tape it off, you have to be mindful of which tape is laying over the other, because you need to take it off in order, or the tape will get pulled off too soon. And you have to do it in sections, and pull the tape as you go. Does that make sense?
