I'm trying to decide between the Bubble Magus QQ that The Fish Gallery looks like they modded to fit into the center chamber of their biocube. Or should i go with the Aquaticlife 115, Aqua Maxx HOB-1, or some other that you have used. The small chambers really limit my options here.

Looking at the shape, I don't think it will fit in my Biocube. Mine is an HQI version which has this big ********* arm that holds up the metal halide light and attached to the middle refugium chamber on the biocube. the footprint of this Tunze will definitely fit in the chamber, however, it is too tall and will bang up against the lights arm. I don't want to discard my halide light in order to be able to use the skimmer.

This is a little hard to see but the bolts in the picture are holding the MH fixture arm to the back of the biocube. As you can see above the filter, the HQI blocks a lot of the space there so the Tunze wouldn't fit.

I got the CPR BakPak no way that thing will fit! you want it INSIDE the chamber? I think you have to build it yourself or just go with one of those biocube skimmers. thats what i have right now and it does it jobs. I am looking into different skimmers but so far none would fit in my biocube...but if you find anything let me know please

Tiff, it's a hang on the back skimmer. I couldn't find anything small enough to fit especially with the light fixture arm attached to the center chamber. The little biocube skimmer is inadequate.

Ok. Got it in and installed in about 10 minutes, only because I had to go to the kitchen and do a hot rinse of the collection cup. Very very simple installation. That's the great part. It's been running for about 30 minutes now. Lots of bubbles but no skimmate yet. It fits like a charm and I'm very happy about that. Even though it hangs off the back, it only requires about 2 inches, so I didn't have to pull my tank out too far.

The negative so far is that this thing is pretty loud. I'll have to figure out whether the noise is coming from the pump and vibrating the plastic of the aquarium, or whether it's the aerator. In any case, I'm going to need a muffler of some sort. We'll see.

Overall, happy with the skimmer as long as it starts producing gunk.
