Red bugs - yep I got them in all three tanks :(
Looking for a whole tank solutions - google and searched all the forums and it looks like interceptor is the go to solution - bad news is that interceptor is no longer manufactured and has been replaced with sentinel. I have only found a few posts on using sentinel in a reef tank. "Mostly positive" just not enough to make me throw sentinel into my tanks

Has anyone used sentinel in there system to remove red bugs? Did it work?

Thanks

I did a quick recon and basically found the same info. you found. I haven't had these but It may not hurt to try a wrasse if you haven't already. Also, I have seen a few posts about people using insecticide available at the local hardware store to rid unwanted pests. I wouldn't have mentioned it but I may not be so different from dog pills. Forget the brand though maybe someone else knows something about it.

I think I read once that some type of pipefish helps with them, but I'm lot really sure. If Sentinel is ok to try, I have plenty I'd be willing to trade. :)

ultimately, red bugs is one of the few things where u pretty much have to nuke the tank. Interceptor being discontinued is news to me, but natural predators simply doesn't cut it when it comes to red bugs.

Jason thanks for the offer
Sential treatment
I mixed up about 1/2 of a crushed pill in some water @ 7pm last night
6:30 am started the carbon and the air on the skimmer
dead one cleaner shrimp and one acro crab (tank was still dark and I had go to work)
got home at 6pm inspected the tank red bugs gone- yes they are gone
did a big water change - loaded fresh carbon - corals are starting to look happy again
nothing else died- snails are ok

long term ?? So far life is good
going to wait another 24 hrs and treat the other two tanks

Awesome news! Maybe even congratulations... Hopefully it will hold up which I am sure it will. This will help many more people in the future. As the interceptor stock pile disappears we will have something new to turn to. Thanks, sorry it had to be your tank....?
