I ordered my Dart/Snapper Hybrid from Premium Aquatics the other day and got it in today. To my dismay, the flow chart on the box of this pump is about 300gph LESS than advertised on premium aquatics website AND Reeflopumps.com. I saw a few different numbers around the internet and wanted to make SURE of the gph @4' head and what better website to check PrAq to than to Reeflo itself. This is what I found;

Should I be upset, I don't know, maybe not but I only bought this pump because of the 3400gph @ 4'. I know 300gph isn't a ton but that was the flow needed to run my skimmer...oh yeah, not to mention it's not what Reeflo advertises. Had I known it was 3100, I probably would have gone with at LEAST the Super Dart Gold, more likely the Barracuda Gold. I'm going to give Reeflo a call Thursday and see what the skinny is.:smash::mad2:

Yeah, I have a feeling I'll be sending it back and falling in line with the others who bought a Barracuda.

I am lost here I looked at all three of your pics and all 4' have either 3100 or 3400 not 300gph where I see the 300gph is at 11' so am I missing something on those pics you have posted?
I had to send my Supreme back because it heated up my mixing water and was making nosies and no problems or questions when I sent it back I even got my shipping fees back which I was really surprised. I had bought it at Pet Mountain.

He bought it based on 3400 gph @ 4'. If it is 3100 gph @ 4' its not going to have enough flow. 3400 - 3100 is the 300 gph difference he is talking about.

Oh okay man now I feel really stupid.... LOL
Well I may be looking at the Quite one 4000 for my return pump.
Even though I was looking at the Reeflo Blowhole because they have three speeds on it for flow pressure and I really liked that idea but it is external pump.

Yeah I think they missed the boat on that one..... They should have come out w/DC pump that takes either 0-10v DC or PWM control for speed. That way it could be controlled different types of reef controllers.

Yesterday I called Premium Aquatics and Reeflo for an explanation. The lady at Reeflo might has well have been a vehicle deatailer...she didn't sound like she knew anything about pumps. She said, "3100-3400 it's somewhere in there". Sooo, I called Premium Aquatics for an intelligent answer. They called me back this morning with an actual explanation. Reeflo told them that the label on the box was a misprint. Whether it is or isn't, at least I feel better. So now I feel good about my purchase...3400gph @4' and only 170 watts. I won't have as high of flow under the tank as the Gold series pumps but when it gets to the tank they will be comparable...and 60 less watts than the Barracuda Had my tank been any taller I'd have gone with the 'Cuda.
So, in closing, :whoo:!
