No, calibration solution has a salinity level of usually 0.025 or 35ppm (think those #'s are right). It's so you can calibrate your hydrometer to read salinity levels properly and adjust accordingly.

Wouldn't any refractometer owner just simply put RO water on the glass & adjust the set screw to zero?
