My dryer blows air but there is no longer any heat. Some appliance shop charged me $40 to give me useless information so now I doubt he really tested the heating element and thermostat. So after losing $100 trying to replace the main control board, which he said was the likely problem, I'm going to go back to the obvious and common problem, the thermistor, thermostat, or heating element. Problem is, i can't figure out how to get to them. Tried taking all the screws off the back panel with no luck.

So anyone on here know how to get to the heating element on an LG dryer?

to get to the heating coil it should be accessable from the back. mine went out years ago and i had to fully take apart the entire dryer to get it out. hopefully you'll have better luck.

I had a similar problem years ago (in the 90s) on a dryer. Turned out one of the wires in the element had shorted out and the dryer wouldn't heat. I was able to fix it pretty easily by pulling the panel off around the heating element and turning the dryer on (to identify the issue) then cutting and splicing the line (unplug the machine of course before touching anything - it's 220 and hurts). To get to it on my old one it was on the very bottom of the machine. I removed the lower front panel and you could see the coils.

Note those were both electric.

Whats your model number?? How old is it?? Where did you get the part from??
You are going to have to get to it this from the front. If you don't know what your doing you will end up breaking plastic parts... I have service manuals I can give to you..
Let me know if you need help...

Purchased in 2004. LG

Here's the set.

Dryer is model DLE5932W

Back of Dryer with 2 screws each side except bottom (6) plus 2 for each bracket (4). I removed all 10 screws and the back panel still wouldn't budge.

Any suggestions on how to get either the front or back off?

OK. What your going yo need is a putty knife or butter knife. Get a flashlight and look at the seem of the top of the dryer and the front. You should see 2 clips one about a 1" to 2" in from both sides.. You will then push in on them and lift up on the corners. Then your top should lift up. Then you will see the screws to take the front off..
Without being there its hard to explain.

Found the 2 clips in the front seam but i'll be a gator's bitch if that damn thing pushes in. I might have to pull it from the looks of how it's attached. Will post a new pic once i manage to get the damned thing off.

Well I've tried to post up the service manual for the machine I found on line for free but it keeps saying an admin needs to approve my post. If you google dle5932w service manual about the 4th item down should be a PDF. Thats it.
