Ok, this is a weird one.
Recently, when I try to respond to a PM, my space bar doesn't work. LOL!
Seriously. If i start typing at the bottom, beneath the original message, space bar no worky.
If I type above the original message it works fine.
If I type above the original message, then copy and paste that new text below the original message, I can continue typing and the space bar works.

Mac OS 10.11.6 and Chrome.

I have complained about the same...if you click the first button - "switch editor to source mode" it will work. Chrome on Windows.

This is a heated issue (well was a heated issue until vBulletin mods closed the thread) on the vBulletin forums. It seems when Chrome upgraded to their latest version they changed some fundamental code in their text programs. The vBulletin team knows about this but cannot fix it in any vBulletin version 4.x.x or older. We are currently on 4.2.2 and working to move to what 99.9% of vBulletin users have 4.2.3. vBulletin staff does say this is not an issue in vB5. Unfortunately nobody uses that yet. To upgrade we would have to buy brand new licenses of all products we use right now. It's a pretty big change.

So, yes the issue is known. No vBulletin is not fixing it, Doubtful Chrome will fix. We aren't upgrading to 5 anytime soon.

With all that said here is more info to help you navigate around the issue.

1. This is a Chrome only issue. (Windows & Mac)
2. This happens when you use the WYSIWYG editor AND are using Chrome.
3. You can switch your editor to "Source Mode" from WYSIWYG and that will fix the issue.
4. If you want to continue using WYSIWYG quick replies and Chrome, when you hit the space bar and see it doesn't work, hit the enter key. For whatever reason this makes the space bar start working. It will drop your cursor down 1 line. You can hit the backspace key to get back to original point.

I've replicated this issue in Chrome myself just now so I know exactly what you are talking about. I've tested the workarounds and they seem to work. It's the same issue where some people will type out a reply and when they post it all spaces are removed to make a wall of text. There is a setting I can set that will force all quick reply boxes to "Source Mode" but I'm not sure that's what all users would want.

Sorry I don't have better news or a true fix. Maybe Chrome will hear the cries and go back to their previous text edit code.

I usually have to hit "enter" to get off the first line, before replying. Otherwise... everythingisallcrampedtogether, likethis

:)

I wanted to say something awhile back, but didn't know how to 'splain it. :) Thanks Dennis.
