I have an Eclipse 2 tank that I need to change out the lighting on. I have used Custom Sealife's Smartlamps in the past, but now I hear that they are a fire hazard. I would like to have at least 100w of light over the tank, however every retrofit kit I have looked at is too wide. Any advise? I have heard that you can pick up ballasts at a hardware store and just purchase the bulbs, but I am afraid that a hardware store bought fixture would not give off the full output of an aquarium bulb. Help!

I know some people are putting 70w and 150w metal halides on some of their nanos. other than that, they make a 96w quad lamp Power compact that might fit.

Thanks for the advise. We found the quad lamp retrofit kit by Coralife and it will fit perfectly.
