What size return pump should I use, it will have two T's in it. One "T" going over to refugium with ball valve and the other spliting off to two returns that hang over back wall at each end of the tank. Return piping is 1" and travels up 60".

I'm running a 700gph on my bowfront with a single return, so I'm thinking atleast 1200gph?

This was supposed to go in my other thread, it decided to make it's own. Sorry.

With dual 1in returns and a tee-off to the refugium, and 5ft of head, I would run a Mag-18. Be sure your drains can handle that kind of flow.

its a HOB with a single 1" drain. so I doubt it could handle a 18. I'll be building a DIY 55 sump with drain into the left skimmer section and return section in the center and fuge on the right.

My MAG7 works well on my single return bowfront that has about a 1" drain too. But since I'm spliting the return twice now I don't think the 7 will push it.

searching around, my tank is 72x20x18 and I'm reading that it's a 125gl. Correct???

Google posts having it from 110-175 depending on the posts you read.

(72X20X18)/231=112/gallons

Mag 9 should work.

That's what I was thinking, I'm sure my four Tangs will like it more too. Yellow, Powder Brown, Sailfin and Tomini Tangs. I probably won't add too much more rock, I have three decent size rocks sitting in the garage.

This is the sump design I'll be using, 55gl w/ Mag12 and BM NAC5A.
