Here's some pics from the Marshall Islands. these were the last dives of the dive course, so im good to go. camera is a point and shoot Canon. most of the corals were around the 40' mark and hard to keep the corals from washing out. you really need a powerful flash to overcome the depth. from what i was told by the dive master ---this location was very "Fisher Price".....much much better dive sites.

even the lowly chromis is a smart fish. if i can catch him, i surely will pop one for ya.

i'll also never ever complain about paying XXX dollars for a fish. little buggers are hard to catch .

hopefully my technique will get better, and now that im on tank air, WATCH OUT!!!

Great pics. Get photoshop elements and run autolevels, it will bring back out all the reds. enjoy diving it is more addictive than reefing.

i plan on diving once a week minimum, two dives each trip.

we had a brief conversation about this during the tank tour.

working as a facilities engineer. my background is mechanical, but i have enough diverse experience to do the job. two sides of the fence out here, those who work on "missions" and those who work on keeping the place running.

from the butcher, the barber, and the baker. its like running a small town out here.

im enjoying every minute of it.

Your point about going to see the reef anytime from earlier thread makes more sense.....I still like having the tank to tinker with.

Houston isn’t a bad place. We still have a house in Mo City.

I think I was at a point in life that I wanted a break while still needing to support my family. IMO this is an excellent compromise. It’s a small fraternity of people that have been assigned out here….100% my pleasure to do it.

Now on to better dive spots, and hopefully better camera works!!!!

please forgive me, as i only manage to take pictures perhaps one in twenty excursions. this is part of my routine, weather permitting i do my water changes here, and go for a quick dip in the water, and scope it out. if im feeling frisky, ill hit a couple of spots up. the tide was really low, kind of unnerving swimming on the surface with corals 12" below you. eels have bad vision, might get too close, and have one try to take a bite out of you.........sorry if your on my fb list, you seen these already. going for a fun dive tomorrow!! might try to snap some pics.

the population is waaaay down from the good ole days of 5000 or so residents, back when we were mad at the USSR. no budget caps, all the resources you wanted back then.

now, down to 1500-1700 persons on the island, including dependents, with different types of missions to support, verses previous years.

its like living in a small town, very relaxed out here.

That sounds really nice. I would love to live there with all of the reefs and hardly anyone to annoy you. lol
