Got the tank setup and perfectly leveled to 1/32" water line different at the top.

Process took 5 days for the RO water to fill the system

Drain and Return pumps took a bit of work but got everything setup leak free.

NOTE: If anyone decided to use the Apex flow motoring 2" meter here are some helpful times that I found the hard way..
1) USE PIPE DOPE AND SILICONE - I found a lot of stories after I had major leaking issues for the threads to the supplied 2" couplers

For the Return pump temporary setup: I'm using a cheap 2400GPH pump to start the cycle process to get it flowing and broke in for the time being. I will get my 2 Red Dragon return pumps soon but I want to get the cycling process started ASAP

This weekend I got the drains and return lines 100% complete and leak free! The tank is up and running after a bit of tuning for the drain valves to get everything to quiet down a bit!

I'm not sure this video will upload but I'm giving it a shot

Looks like you’re hitting the ground running. Very nice equipment list. What kind of pipe dope did you use? I use

E663AB69-7385-4AF3-AB5A-5E16DBF746C7.jpeg

even though it’s not really pipe dope it’s for almost all rubber seals and it’s just a great all around for all sorts of aquarium applications.

I used 3M Teflon fiber filled dope and 3M clear silicone mixed together for the threaded connections and I used regular Vaseline for the O-rings and threads for the disconnect couplers.

Initial tank setup completed!!

Today the last parts to my return line came in! I'm running duel 1" RFG nozzles and they truly work like a charm!

Please ignore the cloudy water! I leveled the sand again and disturbed it a little to much today.

Man, TBH....looks like ur spending $ to spend it, F'it YOLO.....best of luck with the build....gonna check in! For the lighting, you might be migrating elsewhere down the road.
Hear bad things about the razor x lights? BRS even did a full breakdown of the specs to set them too so thats why I was looking into them.

BRS is FOS....look at what the commercial guys are doing.......WWC, TCK, Battle, FHC. No ones running maxpect. BRS used to be good, now a corporate shill. I like Philips coralcare personally.... but seen some darn good growth under the Echotechs, Radions etc.

Never use Vaseline or other petroleum products on o-rings... It will eventually break them down.
(Think about other types of "rubbers"...)

I found that this works well for PVC threads. Dope is ok but not really made for our purposes; this stuff is.

Well I've run into a snag and looking for a little advice on lights!

I have it narrowed down to 4 different lights:
1678317989560.png

Now I do have the EcoTech RMS rail already so all I need is one additional bracket to run the 4 XR15's

I have read a lot of good things about the AP9X and that 2 could possibly fit my build fairly well and they are connectable to Apex so that's a huge plus for me!

Any advice on these or possibly an additional setup ideas would be great!!! Looking to purchase next week

all good choices.

I love the Kessil logic, and kessil shimmer. Another choice is to get the a360x or the a500x

Rank these in importance to you:

Spread
Spectrum
Intensity
Visual aesthetics to you
Controllability

i'd stay away from the sky's personally based in the initial teardown they did.....just a CC knockoff thats fan cooled. based on your list, the radions would be top pick based on userbase feedback. as far as being controller compatible....i'd move that down the priority list as you can always make changes thru the separate app. i can do 0-10v control on separate channels but it takes seconds to go in and make adjustments......its not something you change often...once dialed in, kinda leave it where it is.
