Recently installed a booster pump on my RODI system. Wanted some feedback. I installed it AFTER my carbon filter in between the membrane. I also put the pressure gauge T'd off the booster pump output. I assume this is the correct setup. But when I turn my pump on the pressure gauge jumps all over the place-no idea what the pressure is just a constant flutter. Is this normal? Any help would be great!

if your gauge is not fluid filled it will bounce around like that. Mine is setup like this: tapwater -> sediment -> carbon -> carbon -> booster -> pressure gauge -> ro membrane -> di -> di -> safe water out :)

Steve that's the exact setup I have or am trying to run. Prior to the booster pump I wasn't getting enough PSI through the system after adding additional DI and carbon blocks.

My gauge is fluid filled though...originally I had the booster pump at the start with the supply line into the pump then into the sediment. The gauge at that time read 80psi and was steady. So I know the pump works and the gauge works. Do you know if the length of tubing matters? I have the booster pump the gauge and the membrane within inches of each other.

I don't know what the recommended length is but mine is pretty short as well...booster -> T fitting for pressure gauge -> RO.

Mine is not completely steady (but much better than the non fluid filled I used to have), it oscillates between 80-85 psi so I assume its somewhere in there, when I had the non fluid filled gauge it would fluctuate between about 70-100 psi. Maybe its a water supply pressure/volume issue since the water is going through 3 filters before it ever gets to the pump...

Was thinking it may be irregular supply. The supply water will surge a bit not more than 5psi and it's rather slow. But just thinking water into the pump might be waiting on the volume to fully get through the filters. Not sure. I will play with it more tonight.

ok... Don't be surprised if it still bounces a little if/when you get a fluid filled gauge... but will be a lot less noticeable...

I have the same setup as both of you. My gauge is not fluid filled and jumps also. Not real bad but about 5psi.

I think the main issue is the noise!! It's super loud. Jumps probably from 20-90psi fluttering back and forth. The noise is the needle rattling in there. I just took the gauge off the line for the time being. Now I can at least make water in peace from the racket.
