Ok, I know I did worng, so please don't beat me up too bad. But if there is anyting I could do to save this creature please let me know.

I was in a LFS looking for dried seaweed to supliment the angels that are in my tank. (125g, ph 8, amm 0, nitrite 0, nitrate <5ppm, up for a month). My wife sees this Sebae Nem and loves it, I know it was to soon, but fell victim to trying to keep her happy so that I could keep expanding this hobby and bought it. I was inflated and had no signs of tears on the foot, the mouth was not gaping and appeared to be relativly healthy.

We brought it home and dripped it for about 2 hours. Placed it in the tank and attempted to position it where I figured it would be best suited, moderate flow, good lighting ,etc.

Well the first night, it would not eat, tried a small piece of shrimp, but it was no longer "sticky" and all it did was close up.

I left it alone and the next morning it was drifting in the current. just tumbling arround the tank.

I didn't want it to get sucked into a power head, so I placed it in a crevice of a rock on the sandbed. It stayed there all day, but was not as inflated as the night before, during the day it appeared to inflate some but still not fully.

This morning I found that it had become dislodged again and was totally behind the rocks, where it could not get any light, so in order to maintain a watch on it I moved the rocks and placed it where I could see it again.

Other than not being fully inflated and not taking food, I see no signs that it is in complete decline ( gaping mouth, loosing color, puking its guts, etc ) but am extremely concerned about the creature.

So I ask if there is anything else I can try, other than waiting it out, please make the suggestions.

Thanks,

Give it more time. It will continue to move until it finds a place it likes; leave it be. If you're lucky, it will find a place where you can actually see it.

I've noticed that anemones tend to hide for at least the first day or two upon addition to the tank. It's like they need to get acclimated to the light.

+1 on this. Nem's are tricky, finicky little buggers...with a mind of their own. They will go where ever they want, when ever they want. I have been lucky with my GBTA, it has stayed in one place for about the last 4-5 months...and its dead center in a nice little cave area. Before that, it would probably move about once every 2-3 months...especially when it would split. Rule of thumb is to just let it find where it is most comfortable and it will set up. Don't try to feed it for a while either, that will stress it out too. Keep us posted (and keep those power heads covered

as of this am, it has not moved again, but is still not fully infalting, last night I was sure it was dead, totally delflated, limp, and tentcles flat like poped baloons, this morning it was inflated again though and has its mouth facing the rock work. It has a decent color, creamy white, almost tan and the purple tips no longer look brown. I have not tried to feed it again since the first night, but have added a little extra mystis to the normal feeding in hopes it will find a morsle in its reach. Still in limbo...

as of this afternoon R.I.P., at least I caught it before it fell apart and killed the entire tank.
