Inquiring minds want to know...

For those of you who purchased Rose BTA's a while back, how is yours doing?

I'm thinking of buying one, but I want to know from all of you if they've fared well in your tanks.

I've had really bad luck with them. The first one found its way inot the suction of a powerhead. His replacement seemed to be doing really well for the first couple of days, then I found him lying upside down in the sand, deader than disco. I'm not sure what happened, though the night before he died I did see my sixline wrasse spending a lot of time around him looking with bad intent.

I've had mine for maybe 6 weeks now and it is doing great. I placed it high in the rockwork and it moved about 2" to a place it liked and hasn't moved since.

The ones I got that spent little time at the LFS have done well. The three I got after they had been at the LFS for a couple of weeks, despite my best efforts, self destructed.

i got one from kenny about 2 weeks ago and to say he is doing excellent :D . when i bought it at kenny it was merely about 3 inches across now it is about 6-7' inches with long reaching tentacles. i have to clean out all of the left size of my tank for him because he still moving around searching for his spot. i feed everyday with variety of foods including silverside, krills, formula one cube "he would eat 2 cubes whole at a time  " , squid, even flakes that float around. i think i might have to slow down on the feeding because at this rate he will take over my tank. my percs however love him to death :)

i have 2 roses. The first one i bought finally found a happy place on the upper front left of my tank on the glass (stupid anemone on the glass!!! I have 250 watts of halide on a 55 gallon and he still wants more light?!?!). Since finding this home he has grown alot and been really happy there.

The 2nd anemone from citypets ($30) did horrid the first 2 weeks. Eventually disappeared and I never found him... Until i moved my tank to my new apt 1 month ago, And next thing i know he appeared in the sump. Moved him to the top tank and he has made leaps and bounds since then, and not moved an inch from where i put him.

The first rose I got from Global did not do well at all and eventually did not make it.

The second one I just got from Aquatic Center and it seems to be doing very well. Kenny said he had it in the store about 2 weeks when I got it.

Here is a pic of the rose from Aquatic Center.

Here it is with the kids. It only took them about 5 days to figure it out. :D

Oh sure, brag, brag, brag......some of us have perfectly nice RBTAs.....where we can't enjoy them. Ours is living a perfectly happy life in the back of the rocks where it can enjoy it's life in privacy. The clowns still feed it every day. Sure would be nice to see what it's doing back there. :(

I have two of them. The first I bought at Tropical Fish Depot about a year ago. It found a place to stay and has been there for the entire year without moving. My Black Saddleback clown calls that one "Home."

The other I got from John at Global about 4 months ago. It took about 3 weeks to find the perfect spot to come to a rest, and has now lodged itself in one of the layers of my show Montipora capricornis. The Montipora is doing fine, and the anemone loves the location. I think it is an interesting combination.

If you came to the Frag Swap at my house a couple of months ago, you will have seen both of them. Unfortunately, I don't have a camera to take picture to post them.

i got one at city pets. it split with one half not making it. the other half is doing great. it just moved aroudn the tank the other day. my tomato clowns like it and hid their recent batch of eggs behind it. i make sure it gets some mysis shrimp when i feed. i have a TON of light for it though with 1130 watts on a 105 tall and tons of water flow. it has its choice of light and flow to keep it happy.

I got mine from Global from the first batch they got in. It moved within 6hrs to it's spot, and has stayed there ever since. My green BTA moved from the spot it had been in for several months, until it was right beside the RBTA. My perc and the anemone crab seemed thrilled with this arrangement. :)
