I recently had my sixline wrasse die from unknown cause that I haven't even had for 2 weeks. Now I noticed my gramma scraping against rocks and other things. He eats but stays in his cave all day which isn't normal usally swimming around the whole tank and goes there at night. There isn't anything I can see a little scares from scraping and kinda like dull areas of color showing up? Help?

Usually, scraping and flashing means some sort of flukes. They get in the gills, the eyes, and under the scales. They are very irritating to the fish and he is trying to scrape them off. If you don't get them off, he will stop eating and die. I would get him out and do a 2 hr bath in a Para-guard solution. If he has flukes, that may get them off. If you can QT him for a few weeks, you can observe and treat with something different if you identify a different disease. If you can get him to a QT tank, I would give him a couple of days break after the Para-guard bath and them dose the QT with Prazi-pro for a week.

If he has ick, then do the TTM on him. That works well. Not sure what your tank is like but I don't recommend dosing your display with Para-guard. I can kill corals (if you have a reef). Also the Prazi-pro can kill feather dusters and other worms in your tank. A Royal gamma can easily be treated in a 10g tank.

Here is the link to the ttm instructions if you haven't found it

Also if it's flukes they are hard to see. My blue face angel came home with them when I bought him. They are very hard to see, they are little round almost clear scale looking parasites. A little easier to see on fish like angels with big scales and a flashlight. I did a 5 min freshwater dip, and looked like hundreds fell off. Then treated the tank with prazi pro for 2 weeks(I didn't have a qt at the time and it was a fish only tank) if any eggs are left over in the tank they will hatch within 7 days or stay dormant in the sand until the water temp rises and hatch again. I went through two rounds of killing these things. Good luck
