The stuff in the bag that sells for about $20, with the Easter Island scene on the front is white silica. Great if you want to grow sponges (good), but also great if you want to grow diatoms (not so good).

Are jawfish and gobies the same thing?
I've got a dragon goby that does the whole sand sifting thing.
