It must be a typo, so hurry while you can ~ Wal-mart has Scott Michael's 3rd volume of his acclaimed Reef Fishes series at the pre-order price of $12.25. Shipping is under $3. This must be a mistake, because Volume 2, which just came out two days ago, has a cover price of $89.95. Volume 3 is supposed to be out on June 28.

I ordered my copy, which with tax and shipping came to a grand total of $16.27. :D

I hope you're happy Sherri, books are the one thing I love more than my tank. Combine the two and I'm a HAPPY woman! Being the comparison shopper the next cheapest place I found it was at amazon.com for $30.57. Obviously I ordered my copy from Wal-Mart as well. Can't have too many books :D

I can't take any credit ~ Ninong on Reef Central found it and posted it in the Team RC forum. :D I don't think it's made its way into the public forums yet. Hehehe ~ enjoy!

I read that yesterday. Apparently, since the original posting on the Walmart site, the title and description of the book was altered without notice to the vendor or the buyer. The buyer got what was published, although it was not exactly what was advertised on the website.

In this case, the book is listed under its final name, and therefore there will be no substitutions. However, the price may change. Fortunately, for those who have already purchased the book, Wally world cannot now up the price to the true Walmart retail price of $55.00. They are obligated to sell it to those that have already ordered at the advertised $12.95 price. :D

Actually, this is the thread I had read:

You will notice that if you click that link I originally posted, the price tag on the book has increased from $12.51 to $27.51 overnight (more than doubling in price). I think Wally World is starting to realize their mistake and are trying to correct it quietly. LOL.

Sure glad I stay up late at night.
I was able to order the book before OPEC changed the price.
Oh! I meant Walmart.

One thing I did notice that book is only 272 pages as compared to his other books which are much larger. It was still a steal though :D

So was the 2nd edition ever 'mispriced?' Just wondering...

Cuz $55.05 seems a bit much considering how much the 1st edition costs.

Volume 2 was listed at $89.95 for 670+ pages. However, without giving notice to anyone who pre-ordered it, the publisher split Volume 2 into Volumes 2 and 3 with Vol. 2 only having 296 pages but the same price. Needless to say, people who pre-ordered (and pre-paid) are quite pissed. Volume 3 is only 272 pages but has a list price of $44.95, I think. There's a big long thread about it on Reef Central.
