Thinking about doing a small collection trip to Galveston, and I know the sergeant major is pretty easy to catch.

Question is:
I have a 135gallon. How aggressive do they get?

I have some Fiji blue chromis
bangaii cardinals
Vlamingii, yellow, sailfin, tomini tangs
clowns, LTA.

Do I need to worry about the Majors? I'm thinking maybe 3 small ones.

Hi, Padanky
Get in touch with Mike13oy. He kept a bunch in his big tank a few years ago. If I remember correctly, he had problems with them when they got big. And they grew pretty quickly too.

Good luck
Steve

Yeah, I seen his tank back then. And yes, they were pretty big. I'll probably just not get them, really just want to go collect I guess. But don't really want anything I could collect. Lol. Thanks for the quick reply.

Never seen them in a tank but from many years of fishing I know they're top tier carnivores for their size. If they think they can eat it they'll try.

I suggest not to put them in the tank. They are pretty fish when u first got them(1/2"-3/4") but will not take long for them to be 2"-3" and start kill other small fish. lol I had about 25 of them around 1/2" in my 300g and they do school together but when they get older, they are aggressive. Took me about 1 month to trap them out of my 300g.
Pics of them when they were small.
