So i just learned that clownfish in groups are all males except for a dominant female and #2 dominant becomes the mating male. If a clownfish is by itself, what sex is it?

And if there are 2 species in a tank, i.e. a maroon and a false perc, does this same rule apply? this auto sex change thing in clowns is very interesting.

same applies for fairy wrasses and such. except it's female becomes male. and when wrasses are kept singularly, there's no guarantee that it will morph in to a male.

1. If you have a group of 20 clowns, you should have 1 male and 1 female in there. the other 18 are unsex.

2. If you have a maroon and a false perc in the same tank and they are not bonded together, they are female. If they bonded(if you get lucky), one is a female and the other is a male.

Right now a have a bonded pair of pink skunk with a false perc( I got lucky). Hope they will spawn in the future.
