Ok Im building my shopping list for my clowns that have recently laid eggs. I plan on letting my clowns lay eggs one more time and then I will start buying the stuff needed for them...

I have read a lot of books over the course of the year and have ready thousands of threads on breeding so I thought I knew what I needed. But here is my problem, I know I need rotifer but when I started looking at rotifer there is type L and type S. So my question is which one do I get. I was also able to find rotifer eggs but it seems like most places are selling live rotifer, so whats better?

Second question is I know the rotifer need to be enriched, but when I start looking for microalgae there are a bunch of different types of microalgae, so what type of enrichment are you guys using?

Thanks in advance.

1... You can use either one and type L is bigger then type S. Many people who breed clownfish use type L.
Its best to get live rotifers then eggs. Eggs take forever to culture. Been there and done it. :)
2... Rotigrow plus to feed ur rotifers.

Do you use any type of ammonia buffer or anything like that along with the Rotigrow? I noticed the RGcomplete seems to be an all in one concentrate. Is this something new and do you have any experience with that?

Rotigrow plus and the Cloram-x(ammonia buffer) for rotifers
I never use RGcomplete so no comment. U can try it out and let us know.
Matt Pedersen told me in the past that people use RGcomplete to tint their fry tank water. I use rotigrow plus and cloramaX for fry tank.

The RG Complete is suppose to be both the Rotigrow Plus & Cloram-X premixed is this not correct because that is what they have stated on their website - Reed Nutrition?

The rotigrow complete is much less concentrated than the rotigrow plus, you'll burn through it a lot faster than just using rotigrow plus. Also, you don't have to use cloram-x in your rotifers, I never have and have no problems at all maintaining high concentration cultures with weekly water changes or even keeping low concentration cultures going for 1-2+ months with no water changes at all.

What are you using for your Larva tanks? You may want to consider the cloram-x if your tinting your larva tank water and are not using a flow through system, but as tektite said you wont need it in your rot culture.
I think the verdict is still out on the Rgcomplete. I have been talking with reed about a couple of issues I have been having. Once I get more info back I will give a report.
