Nope, it's just need it's time to break in.
If you want rush or for that matter things happing fast you are in the wrong hobby my friend.
Of course if you did research on some skimmers you found out that some skimmers just break in sooner than others.
I have a Lifereef skimmer and that one broke in in matters of a hour or two.

Diesel has a good point. I breaked my skimmer with water and vinagre in a couple hours and then clean with RO/DI water
Good luck

Not in a rush just tired of everything in my stand getting covered in salt spray bc the skimmer is going crazy. I understand things go slowly but cleaning up puddles of water every night from salt spray is getting old, not that I mind, just asking for advice.

You just have to adjust your skimmer to the highest #, in that case you reduce the flow for contact time with air and have less skim.
You can also raise your skimmer higher out the water for less contact time, or do the Diesel trick.

What kind of skimmer do you have?
I would recommend you follow Diesels' recommendations.
Raise the skimmer if you can so that bubbles stay just below the bottom of the cup then adjust as required to keep bubbles breaking at that point. Dry foam will then be pushed up the throat and overflow in the cup.
