Hi guys. As already posted I have a 45 Hex Tank. Its now finishing its cycle.. I am haveing a problem with my Skimmer.. Anyone out there own a Jebo 180 skimmer? If not anyone surfing around see anything concerning them?

The problem I dicern is, that I am not getting enough air into the Venturi system. The water goes up too high and too fast. I have the Flow valve opened all the way up. And per the sugestion of another board, I raised the colletion cup up as high as it can go. But I still get too much flow into the cup (cup fills with water in about 30/45 mins).

That would mean as I understand it that 1: either I dont have enough air. or 2: The pump sent with the system has too much power (AP 1500). or 3: I have soo much sludge in my tank that it really needs to collect that much stuff. Could a cycled tank (2 1/2 weeks old) have that much stuff??

Any ideas??
Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If the effluent is extremely wet (as it sounds your is) then I would believe that the problem is the linger time of the water in the skimmer column. perhaps you can "dial back" the pump that is feeding the skimmer to produce a lower flow rate?

Very wet! Its basically water. I will try and restrict some of the waterflow and see if that helps.. Or Maybe I will try and get a smaller powerhead. If its the waterflow thats the problem.. Any other thoughts?

You already tried elevating the cup (to lengthen the column) so I can't think of anything else there... You COULD try to increase the amount of air, but I don't think it would do what you want it to....
