For those who use skimmers,
At what rate do you keep your skimmer at?
I have mine at a rate that skims some dry bubbles so that my water level wont go down so fast.
I had it at a bit higher rate, but my water level was going down way too fast in my refugium. Should I keep at the current rate, or should I increase it?

The skimmer is custom made, and Im using a mag 9 drive pump.
It still skims out dirt, but I wonder if I should put at a higher rate and live with the fast water loss.

I think you're supposed to have more of a dry foam if it is set right

At least in my tank, the skimmer itself is not the biggest contributor of water loss. My water loss is mostly from evaporation. Maybe you have the same issue. I get about one cup of very dark stinky skimmate per week. However, I get about 3 to 5 gallons of water loss through evaporation in the same period.
