Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (1 Viewer)

Anyone have problem with skunk cleaner hiding or not cleaning? That what mine does all day :?

They normally do better in pairs, but it will vary from shrimp to shrimp and what kind of fish you have in the tank.

Flame Angel, Small Regal Tang, Medium Yellow tang, Diamond Gobbie, and 2 True Percula Clowns. The Yellow love to swim by it and lay flat more then the rest of them.

first day i added my yellow tang, the skunk cleaner went right for it. i just think it's an acclimation to community issue.

With that kind of intense lighting, it may be more inclined to stay under overhangs and in the caves. That being said, those shrimp won't jump on every passing fish. The fish have to want it. Your clowns likely will never bother. The flame "might" and the blue tang "should" eventually if they desire.

That why i'm trying to get rid of the halid and do a 5 blue and 3 10000k tube.

how big is the halide? i'm in need of better lighting for my 20 gallon.

Mine (Lysmata amboinensis) are out all of the time. I can't put my hand in the water without them hopping on to clean me. Mine are under 2x70w halide and 4x31w t5 ho. I would add a second. But my scarlet cleaners (lysmata debelius) on the other hand stay hidden most of the time unless I'm feeding.

Cleaning is more related to if the fish will let them.... Mine try to clean my Anthias but the the Anthias wont let them.

I have three cleaner shrimp in my 180 and they only clean when the fish ask for it, the rest of the time they just kinda hang out in their caves.
