Anyone have or know where to get a small power compact? Iv made a small sea horse tank (8"x8"x15"T) and now I need something go make the micro grow and light up the horses. I just guessed PC would be the best bet because of the size.. I thought maybe LED but thats alot of trouble hehe.

Corallife makes a small 8w that screws into a regular incandescent socket.

Try the lighting section of the nano reef board:
http://www.nano-reef.com/

Look up the 70W MH while you are there! :)

Also, I think those coralife bulbs come in 10 and 20W from what I have seen online.

go to City Pets, they have these generic PC for like less then $20 bucks and it looks and works great too! Had mine on 24hrs for 6 months in my refugium with no problem.

the problem with the generic PC is that it puts off all white light. that is why i had to go for the coralife ones.

I have an even easier lighting method. Go to Lowes and to the extension cord section. There you will find these small worklights made by a company called Bayco. They are 13 watt PCs and havea 6400K bulb in them. They also come in a sealed clear tube, so you don't have to worry about salt creep. Cost about 20 bucks. You can also order 50/50 or 10,000K bulbs from hellolights if you want.

Here is a pic of one of mine in a hood I built for my 2.5
