I have a smooth skin acro that I noticed some "sun spots" if you will. Base is a liter green and new growth is white/blue, my question is I noticed some spots that are very small but noticeable. No bugs, no coral with long sweepers ( I check at night). Sits slightly above halfway up the tank in a 210 with 8 bulb ati fixture. Thoughts? I just moved it down in the tank thinking maybe to much light? Still growing and great PE at night.

I have never had the nightmare of dealing with them. When I dip it (tonight) what am I looking for? Are they noticeable or tiny and hard to see?

ok sooo I luckly work close to cinco ranch aquariums and 10 minutes from the house so for my lunch break I made a visit to both. Cinco did not have revive but they did have RX. I dipped it and it looks like I have flat worms, But they looked more like maybe the bottom right and even the big guy in the middle of your picture (depending on scale) almost like tiny strips of skin if you will? I would assume there is only one type of flat worms? Also, I have no way to get out the large colonies so how should I treat them? Iv heard people use Bayer?

First time having to deal with this so not sure what to do.

I dont have a viable way to quarintine the acros, I didnt see a TON of the flatworms (maybe 7-10) nor did I know what I was looking at so I didnt look for eggs ( I will do that when I get home tonight).

One the bright side I love Millie's so there for I only have this smooth skin acro and a green slimer colony. I will double check the slimer but I didnt notice any marks like I did on the smooth skin.

Should I just keep dipping the smoth skin every so many days?

Also if you buy SPS frag which is encrusted on a plug, break it mid way and remove the plug. The number of eggs/AEFW I have found beneath the plug is really shocking. It's easy to see them in the body of the Acropora/Millipora (don't believe the myth that AEFW invade only Acros) but not very easy to see when it's around/below the frag plug.

That's a good thing to know. I dipped everything last week, saw some flat worms. Fast forward to this week, I just dipped the main one that had them and nothing at all. It also looks like it is recovering some as well. So I am in high hopes!

I was so tired of these freakin bugs we even tried mixing ReVive and Bayer and make it really concentrated to kill these suckers.

I bought a 40/b to set up as a QT there is no other way. You have to watch the new corals for at least 4-6 weeks before adding to the main tank otherwise we all know the tank is doomed.
