South Down sand (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know where I could find some South Down play sand. My friend and I have checked at quite a few places in the south Houston area and so far have been unlucky.
I wonder if they even sell it any more.

You can always get it from this guy, his name is Cody. He is located farther in North Texas, I think around Dallas. But if you did a group order or get a bunch of people together and make the drive it could be worth it for you.

The Home Depot stores in the NorthEast area carry it as a main-stay. It just isn't available readily in our "market". I plan on portaging some back this summer when I go up for my sister's wedding (driving, minivan, leaving the kids with grandparents for a month). The Local HD's are willing to transfer it in, but it takes some nagging, and the NORMAL minimum is around a pallete (which, last time I calculated it out comes to something like 50 bags of 50lb sand).

If you can get 10 or 15 people to go in on it, I think you could make it work. I'm not a good organizer, so, needless to say, I was never able to pull it of....

I bought my Carribean sand (which is whiter and finer than the Southdown) at Global Fish N Pet for only $18/ a 40 lbs bag==> cheap & convenient, just grab it at the LFS when you want it, no hassle in waiting/organizing a group order.. which turned out to be a waste of time in so many times.
