I stop keeping sps cause its too much for me to keep up with, but I still got a couple of frag that are glue to my rock..I don't know much about bird nest but I got 3 diff kind and they all look like the same type but one is growing like crazy but the others seem to be dying...-_- The one that is striving is the one I got from a buddy which he frag off the mother colony but the other are from stores..The question is is different birdnest can be more tolerated then other? I do notice the one that is growing has alot of pollips like longer then the others.. FYI I still don't plan to keep any more sps but just for future references. Thanks.

oh i see. ehh it'll get absorbed. but i do know birdsnest can be a punk when it comes to surviving and thriving.. i had 2 acros in my tank and they were just fine i added a birdsnest (beginer coral) lol and it died in a week. nothing was wrong with the water the lights weren't too bright i couldn't narrow down why it didn't make it. strange coral now that i think about it. everything else i my tank was fine. could have possibly been alethopathy. (spelling?) but i run about 2 cups of industrial grade carbon in a reactor so that really shouldn't be an issue. hmm. good luck man.

Humm thats what weird about this sps stuff...I did a good choice of giving up on them!! Lol But I love my lps all the way! Well if my bird nest still strive and grow to a colony then I will just leave it alone. I just wanted to know why some are good and stronger then other or like wise only for birdnest not other sps only this paticular species.

Yea Sps sucks. I had one frag happy as heck. I moved it 2 inches over and now it won't open up anymore.

Light, flow, and some corals are just hardier.
