Definately Quoc's tank! I appreciate the compliment but mine is way too young. I'll need at least a year to grow out everything. Right now it's just a tank full of frags due to all the trading I've been doing.

TOTM Submission Questions

1. Introduction/History of system

Used tank, 265g, bought from Aquatic Designs before they went out of business. Stand built by my father in law, finished by me. Canopy is still under construction.

The sump is my "first" marine tank, an all-glass 55g Long tank.

3. Feeding

Yep, I feed. One full sheet of NORI each morning, Tetra Flake Spirulina each evening. Meat (Brine / Mysis Shrimp, Krill, Cyclopeeze) every 3rd day or so.

4. Filtration

Biological and Sand Bed (not deep). There is about 350 pounds of LR in the main tank (on top of the 45 pounds of base rock for station), and another 35 - 55 pounds in the sump. There is 320 pounds of sand as the sand bed.


5. Circulation

2 AmpMaster 3000 Pumps. One drives the sump / skimmer / chiller, the other the closed loop. Combined MAX GPH of about 6000 gph.

6. Lighting

IC 660 Powering 1 6' Actinic + 1 6' 50/50
IC 430 Powering 2 6' 50/50
2 PFC Dual 400W Ballasts powering 3 400W 10Ks

7. Parameters

8.15 pH
0 Nitrate
0 Nitrite
0 Ammonia
.1 PO4
600+ Ca
Low - Medium Alk

8. Maintenance

Brush the glass (brown algae) once a day.
Scrape corraline from glass about once every other week.
