Sump size... usually you are limited by space. The size will depend on how much room other equipment occupies. I have (i believe) a 40gallon tank as my ecofilter/sump.

As far as lighting, running a Ice cap 660 (ie. 4-110w VHO Bulbs) will be fine. You could keep a good variety under VHO.

I have the same Oceanic 120. I have a 40 gal sump and it takes up most of my space under the tank. My skimmer actually sits behind the tank since it is external and it would have been a very tight squeeze in the stand. I have 440w VHO lighting and it has worked well for me on a variety of corals so far including; Colt, Xenia, Glove polyps, Green star polyps, Mushrooms, Ricordia, Zoas, Finger Leather, Frog Spawn, Candy Cane, Open Brain, Monti Cap and Monti Digita.

tank and tank mates

Thanks so much for the advice. and you listed just the live mates i like. i also have a 90 gallon that has many of the same tank mates in it. i am fairly new to this marsh site and i love the advice. i enjoy reading the different post and would like to come to a meeting one day if that would be okay.
And again
thank you
